Buxton International Festival (BIF) – described by Metropolitan Opera magazine as “one of Europe’s great little unmissable opera festivals” – is seeking a new Young Associate Director to join its Board from November 2026 (with a further appointment in 2027).
BIF is a multi-arts summer festival of opera, classical music, books and jazz, attracting international artists and audiences. The two-year Associate Director role offers ambitious arts professionals under 35 hands-on board-level experience, insight into high-level arts management, and mentorship from experienced directors. Associates participate fully in Board discussions (without legal or financial liability) and gain invaluable strategic experience.
Four board meetings per year (London/Buxton/online). Expenses covered.
