Welcome to your February update from the Employability & Enterprise (E&E) Team.
Develop Your Idea – How to Start a Project or Business Short Course
If you have an idea for a creative project, freelance career or business, our free short course is designed to help you shape it into a clear and professional plan.
The course will help you:
- Build confidence presenting your work
- Refine and focus your idea
- Develop a realistic timeline and budget
- Strengthen funding applications
We strongly advise completing this course before applying to the Incubator Fund, as it will significantly improve the quality and clarity of your application.
The Incubator Fund – Round 2 Now Open
The Incubator Fund provides financial support to help you test, launch or grow a creative idea.
Funding Available
- £2,000 available per funding window (shared across successful applicants)
- Up to £500 per applicant
Who can apply
- Current students at Leeds Conservatoire
- Graduates (up to 2 years after graduation)

How to Apply
Submit a Business or Artist Plan via our online application form:
You will need to outline your aims, timeline and budget. Alternative formats (such as video submissions) are welcome.
We strongly recommend completing the How to Start a Project or Business short course before applying.
CV Clinic – Monday 2nd March
Struggling to write your CV? Need advice on applying for jobs? Does your resume need an update?
Attend one of our monthly CV Clinics and book a one-to-one slot with an adviser.
Time slots are available throughout the day and can be booked all year round. Sessions are open to Leeds Conservatoire students across all years and pathways, as well as recent graduates.

Enrichment Week – 9th–13th March 2026
From 9th–13th March, the Employability & Enterprise Team will deliver a range of open sessions, panels and workshops in collaboration with industry professionals.
Sessions will cover areas including teaching, session work, legal advice, festival auditions, interview skills and more.
