National Student Money Week 2026

NSMW runs from Monday 2nd March to Friday 6th March 2026. Universities around the country will be taking part in celebrations, with the aim to create conversations around financial issues, and help students feel future ready.

The Student Funding team have prepared activities, resources, and challenges for you to take part in, so you can learn more about money and how to save it. See below for activities taking place throughout the week.

Drop Ins


The Student Funding team will be running drop-ins during the week, with activities such as the Shopping Basket Challenge, and the chance to pick up some freebies and prizes. We will also be available to talk to if you need informal advice and support with budgeting, money management, or Student Finance information.

The drop-ins will be taking place:

  • Monday 2nd March, 11:00am – 1:00pm, Café:Bar (St Peter’s Square)
  • Thursday 5th March, 11:00am – 1:00pm, Playhouse Square, Level-5

Shopping Basket Challenge


As part of National Student Money Week, we are running a Shopping Basket Challenge! Put forward your best guess and estimate the value of the basket of shopping from ALDI. The entrant who guesses closest to the exact amount will win the basket of shopping! One entry per student is permitted.

Entries open on Monday 2nd March and close at 2:00pm on Friday 6th March 2026.

Ask An Advisor


Do you have questions about money, budgeting, Student Finance, or anything else fees and funding? We will be running an ‘Ask an Advisor’ Q&A over on the Leeds Conservatoire Students’ Union Instagram account on Tuesday 3rd March from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Simply head to the LCSU Instagram story and submit your question anonymously.

Financial Wellbeing Score

The Metropolitan Police will be delivering a webinar, aimed at students, designed to raise awareness around the types of fraud, cyber and crypto crime that is prevalent in society today, and seeking to equip students with the skills needed to detect and prevent fraud.
